Hands-on With LEGO Fortnite – Game Review
I’ve been a gamer since a very young age. I cut my teeth on the Atari 2600 and dabbled with the Commodore 64 before proceeding to SEGA and Nintendo’s wares. Since then I’ve chased trophies on PlayStation, enjoyed gaming on the go with Switch and entered the world of VR with Meta Quest. Despite my long love affair with gaming, I’ve steered clear of heading online. Compared to the early days of online play...
71475: Mr. Oz’s Space Car Set Review
It’s official, the year 2024 is the Year of LEGO® Space. Across several LEGO themes, different sets feature the special LEGO Space banner, tying them together through a common string of space-themed builds. For LEGO DREAMZzz, that honour is bestowed upon set 71415: Mr. Oz’s Space Car. By day Mr Oz is a science teacher and by night he becomes a Dream Chaser, who expresses his love of classic LEGO themes with his t-shirt and...
71471: Mateo’s Off-Road Car Set Review
As mentioned in my review of the Narwhal Hot-Air Balloon the first wave of LEGO® DREAMZzz sets didn’t offer any smaller, pocket-money-friendly sets. That’s been rectified with the second collection of sets due to be released on January 1st, 2024. The smallest LEGO DREAMZzz set so far is Mateo’s Off-Road Car, which is inspired by Z-Blob and can be built in one of two different ways. Continuing the 2024 LEGO DREAMZzz...
71472: Izzie’s Narwhal Hot-Air Balloon Set Review
Introduced in the Summer this year, LEGO DREAMZzz is the latest original story theme from the creative minds behind NINJAGO and Legends of CHIMA. DREAMZzz follows the adventures of a group of kids who enter the dream realm to help stave off the Nightmare King and his army of Grimspawn. These adventures are set to continue in 2024 with a second season of the animated show and of course, exciting new sets. I’ll be taking a look at...
LEGO Space: 1978-1992 Book Review
If there were ever two words to excite LEGO® fans it has to be Classic and Space. Alone they mean very little but when combined they conjure up memories of an era of LEGO fandom which still endures strong today. So it’s of little surprise that the much-loved Space theme has inspired a new book. LEGO Space: 1978-1992 is the first official LEGO title from Dark Horse. Across 200 pages, this new book takes an extremely deep dive...
71430: Penguin Family Snow Adventure Set Review
Another of the new LEGO® Super Mario sets being released at the start of 2024, is the Penguin Family Adventure expansion. Like other sets in the upcoming wave, it’s not based on a particular moment or Mario game. Instead, it takes inspiration from the broader Mario franchise. However, there is a slight connection to the iconic Nintendo 64 Mario adventure. So grab those baby penguins and get ready to propel them off a cliff as I...
71429: Nabbit At Toad’s Shop Expansion Set Review
It’s time to kick off the 2024 set reviews with a look at the new LEGO® Super Mario Expansion sets. As we enter 2024, the LEGO Super Mario theme moves into its 5th year as the latest wave of expansion sets continues to expand the brick-built Mushroom Kingdom. Unlike other waves, the upcoming sets aren’t inspired by a particular Mario game or location. They also feature brick-built characters previously featured in other...
