71400: Big Urchin Beach Ride Set Review
For the final of my LEGO® Super Mario 2022 Expansion Set reviews, we stay on the beach with a face-off with Big Urchin. This is one of the largest of the upcoming expansion sets and includes a number of really fun play features, in particular, a rollercoaster track-mounted dolphin and a bridge flanked by a pair of Cheep Cheeps. But what does it add to the already bustling world of LEGO Super Mario and is it worth adding to your...
71398: Dorrie’s Beachfront LEGO Set Review
It’s not just Luigi getting in on the LEGO® Super Mario Expansion Set action this January, as his big bro is back with a couple of sets of his own. They are quite the opposite of the dark and spooky offering from Luigi, as Mario’s sets take the plucky plumber to the sunny beaches of the Mushroom Kingdom. The smallest of the two Mario Expansion Sets is Dorrie’s Beachfront. As the name suggests it gives off some sunny...
71402: LEGO Super Mario S4 Character Packs Review
The LEGO® Super Mario Character Packs have introduced all sorts of friends and foe from across the Mushroom Kingdom. They often include some of the lesser-known ones and this is the first series to really offer something unique as all the characters are new faces and not simply variants of previously seen ones. Similar to LEGO Minifigures, these blind bagged mini sets feature one of ten different collectible characters from a range of...
41707: Tree-Planting Vehicle Set Review
LEGO Friends has always had an odd relationship with LEGO fans. Many simply wrote it off as a girls theme and the use of Mini-dolls has always been a sticking point when compared to Minifigures. I personally have no issues with either. In fact, there have been plenty of impressive little Friends sets and they have become way more diverse over the years. Despite my appreciation for the theme, I don’t give it enough coverage, but...
76206: Iron Man Figure Set Review
Next year marks the 10th Anniversary of the LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes theme and one of the most prominent figures to appear in numerous sets is Tony Stark’s Iron Man. The set I’ll be taking a look at today brings the theme full circle as one of the first LEGO Marvel sets to be released was a buildable Iron Man figure. But there are some big differences, the set from 2012 was inspired by Marvel Comics and used the Character...
76205: Gargantos Showdown Doctor Strange Set Review
With Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in full swing, the notion that it’s ‘all connected’ has never been more true. The events of Loki, WandaVision and Spider-Man: No Way Home all tie into the events soon to be seen in Marvel Studios Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Not much is known about the Doctor Strange sequel, but it will feature the Nexus being Scarlet Witch as well as introducing...
71399: Luigi’s Mansion Entryway Set Review
Any good mansion can’t advertise itself as being somewhat spooky without providing a suitably spooky entrance. Wrought iron gates, a large creaky door and maybe someone or something peering out the windows are some of the requirements needed to offer an unexpecting guest, a worthy fright of their life. So this mid-sized LEGO Super Mario expansion set is the perfect introduction to the ghost-filled fun awaiting you inside...
