As the Year of the Rabbit begins, it’s been a pretty quiet week in the world of LEGO. The biggest news to break in the week gone by has been the end of LEGO DOTS. After the next wave of sets, which will include Harry Potter-themed sets, the theme will be fully retired. There are suggestions the ’tile-based play’ will be folded into other themes, but the DOTS sets as we currently know them will be no more. Although it’s always a shame to see a theme end, there are rumours of many new themes launching or returning during 2023. Lord of the Rings has already made a comeback with BrickHeadz but there are suggestions of more sets coming later in the year. There’s the all-new Dreamzzz theme as well as suggestions Indiana Jones will return and Sonic the Hedgehog is becoming a theme after the LEGO Ideas set from last year.
