BricksFanz Weekly Recap Jan 28th – Feb 3rd

It’s been a busy old week as the LEGO® brick celebrated 61 years, closely followed by the 50th anniversary of LEGO DUPLO®. Then five new LEGO Star Wars sets were revealed, which celebrate 20 year of LEGO Star Wars. If all that wasn’t enough, over in Germany, a number of new sets were unveiled. The biggest of these were the introduction of another powered system, called Control+. This will be featured in a number of LEGO Technic sets and will finally update the old Power Functions for a more controllable, app-based affair. I’ve also had the pleasure of seeing The LEGO Movie 2 early thanks to a special screening in the Empire IMAX cinema. Not only is the film another big screen delight, it’s also filled with some amazing cameos and even more impressive nods to LEGO fandom. There should be even more LEGO news flowing soon, as the New York Toy Fair kicks off in a couple of weeks time. I’ve heard of some of the stuff that has yet to be revealed and we are in for an amazing treat later this year!
