The LEGO Group will once again be attending Gamescom next week, and there are plenty of rumours floating around as to what could be revealed during the annual event. First up is the possible reveal of a LEGO-themed version of the popular city management game, Cities: Skylines. Published by Paradox Interactive, the game series lets you build a vast city. Rumours suggest a LEGO® version of the game has been in development and would presumably transform the usual cityscapes into one built with LEGO bricks and inhabited by minifigures. Second up is a possible new action-adventure in the vein of TT Games’ LEGO offering but not developed by them. Rumours suggest the game could be based on a Disney IP. With TT Games focused on Warner Bros. properties, it does make sense for other studios to take the reins on similar projects. Possible developers could include Studio Gobo, who created the LEGO Horizon Adventure game or even 10:10 Games, who are made up of much of the original team behind the original LEGO titles from TT Games.
Beyond games, the LEGO Group and Nintendo announced there would be minifigure-scale LEGO Super Mario sets on the way in 2027; these could be teased again during Gamescom. As could the rumoured LEGO PlayStation and Astro Bot sets. Gamescom takes place from 26th – 30th August, with Opening Night Live streams on August 25th. This is not any sort of official confirmation of announcements but merely based on rumours.
