In a world of ever-increasing sets designed for adult LEGO® fans, there are still builds for kids. The LEGO 4+ sets provide a stepping stone from DUPLO to standard LEGO sets. They offer simpler builds for younger LEGO fans to enjoy with easy-to-follow instructions, no stickers and unique Starter Bricks for many of the most popular LEGO themes. The latest wave of LEGO Marvel sets includes one 4+ set, which is inspired by Captain America’s battle with Thanos. Here is a brief look at this new LEGO Marvel 4+ set.

The build is split into two sections, one focused on Captain America’s ship and the other on Thanos’ craft and the Infinity Stone pedestal. This provides an easier delivery of the build steps, as well as the ability for the set to be built by two people simultaneously or in stages, should attention spans be short. Thanos’ craft is an oversized version of his Infinity Gauntlet. It uses a mix of natural tone bricks to achieve its golden appearance. Plus various transparent coloured round tiles and a gem element to represent the Infinity Stones. Along with the ship, there’s a random piece of scenery, which is merely a BURP rock panel which becomes a sort of pedestal for a gem.
In terms of Starter Bricks, the base of Captain America’s ship is a larger, single piece. It’s appeared in several other sets but makes its Earth Blue debut in this set. It’s joined by only two printed pieces, which are the 2×2 round tiles featuring the Avengers logo. The set also includes a new element for 2025, in the form of a yellow pin missile. These can’t be ejected in the same way as other flick missiles. Oddly, Thanos’s craft does feature a bigger, spring-loaded missile.
The minifigures are inspired by past versions, with Captain America being extremely similar to his MCU variants. Thanos also appears in minifigure form, and similar versions have appeared in other sets. This version lacks his shoulder armour and oversized fists. Technically, both minifigures are unique, but almost the same versions can be found in other sets
At no point during Endgame does Steve Rogers jump into a Captain America-themed spaceship to take on Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet ship. But if they did, this set would perfectly encapsulate that meeting. Of course, I joke, but this isn’t an Infinity Saga set but merely an Avengers one, which is aimed at younger LEGO Marvel fans. It’s a fun little set, especially Thanos’ cool gauntlet ship. Despite the lone Starter Brick, the set doesn’t quite feel like it offers the best value for its price point. It does have a couple of interesting play features, and the minifigures will be easily recognisable to kids. Set 76219: Captain America vs. Thanos 4+ is available now.
