Fans of Classic Space can add a unique space-themed set to their collection, thanks to the latest GWP set. Minifigures are an iconic symbol of LEGO fandom, and in 2021, they were super-sized for a Harry Potter set. This upscaled the minifigure to be almost 6 times bigger than a standard minifigure. The same concept has since been used for a generic minifigure, a Race Car Driver and a LEGO House exclusive Pirate. Now, another type of LEGO figure has been upscaled. Here’s a closer look at the Up-Scaled Baby Astronaut GWP set.

In 2016, a new baby figure was introduced in a LEGO City ‘People Pack’ set. This new style of infant character is made up of a small cubic body and a tiny version of a minifigure head. A blue-coloured, space variant of the baby figure first appeared as an accessory to the brown Classic Space astronaut in the 24th series of LEGO Minifigures. Following this, a white version appeared in a LEGO Ideas GWP set, and a pink version could be found in the Series 26 LEGO Minifigures. It’s the space version of the baby figure which has inspired this new set.
The set does a pretty good job of recreating the Baby Astronaut figure on a much bigger scale. The only thing it doesn’t perfectly match is the hands, but their overall shape is the same. There is also a slight gap in the arms which feel as if a curved plate is missing. The face and Classic Space logo are both printed pieces, which was a must as they are prominent parts of the set. It’s a fun companion piece to the other larger-sized brick-built minifigures.
