All of the decorated elements are actually printed, with no stickers in the set! Even better, the expressions on the faces of Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli are all interchangeable! This means that you can make your favourite character any way you want! Bluey, for those who are unfamiliar with the very successful Australian cartoon show written by Joe Brumm, follows the day-to-day adventures of Bluey, her sister Bingo and Mum and Dad. A whole bunch of other dog-breed characters also join in the fun with the Blue Heeler family. The show first aired in 2018 and, despite being aimed at a preschool audience, it has gained a cult following, likely down to the variety of social topics covered in each episode.

The Build
Because the sets are aimed at a younger builder, our 6-year-old son built all the main figures. The build is fairly straightforward and aimed at younger builders, so it is less complicated than a regular system set. There are 5 manuals, one for each character and a fifth for the extra accessories. Easy-to-follow pictographs give very clear instructions telling you what bricks you’ll need and what colour.
In the main, the colours seen in the manuals matched the actual bricks. But there were a couple of occasions where it was hard to distinguish between two close shades. With the family built, bag five contained additional accessories. These are fun little builds that echo scenes from the TV show. We particularly liked the brick-built “Long Dog!”
Now you’ve built Bluey and her family, and you’re finished playing for the day, what do you do with all those fun extras… simply remove the top of the characters’ heads and pop in the watermelon slice or campfire or even Unicorse. Brilliant!
Thoughts
We love watching Bluey in our house. We often sit as a family, laughing like drains at the crazy antics that the characters get up to. A particular favourite episode is when Bluey and Bingo dress up as Grannies. It’s a must-watch!
And the great thing that attracted us to this build was that we could build as a family. We enjoyed the experience of sharing the fun. And we were all equally delighted as the Blue Heeler family emerged from piles of bricks.
I’d first seen this set at the London Toy Fair in January 2026 when I attended as a guest of Bricksfanz and The LEGO Group. I knew at first sight that it was going to be one of those must-buy sets.
We love how the characters look and how the LEGO designers have managed to incorporate so much of the family’s personalities into the build.
Playability
These sets have been designed to be played with. Each character has at least two accessories, and all have interchangeable faces. Their hands can hold any of those accessories, as each hand has a stud to which the items can be attached.
This allows for stories to be told or acted out. Scenes from the TV show can be recreated and replayed as many times as you like. Pure and simple storytelling with much-loved characters familiar to a younger audience and adults alike!
Final thoughts
These brick-built characters are really very well made and are great fun to build. And, if you’re an adult fan of the show, they’re great to display too! Simply: LEGO at its best!
