Back in 2020, it was announced that the LEGO Group had entered into a partnership with Universal to create future LEGO movies. Since then, the only thing to come out of the partnership is the recently released Piece By Piece, via Universal’s subsidiary, Focus Features. Now, Deadline is reporting that Universal is working on three LEGO feature films, and oddly, they are all live-action. The films are being worked on by Jake Kasdan, Patty Jenkins and Joe Cornish. Jake Kasden has previously worked on the Jumanji films. Patty Jenkins is best known for the Wonder Woman films and those in the UK will know Joe Cornish from the Adam and Joe Show but has also directed Attack the Block. So there is some pretty impressive talent connected to the projects but the live-action angle is a surprise. We can only hope Joe’s LEGO movie is basically the Star Wars figure skits but with LEGO minifigures.
