Universal Pictures and Dreamworks have announced Shrek 5 will be released in 2026. Which could result in the much-loved animated film series inspiring future LEGO sets. Universal has a great partnership with the LEGO Group and they are second only to Disney in terms of how many of their IPs have inspired various LEGO sets. In the past, the LEGO Group have created one-off themes inspired by Universal’s Troll, Minions and Despicable Me, so it’s possible Shrek could receive the same treatment. It’s certainly something LEGO fans would love as several fan-created projects have been submitted to LEGO IDeas over the past few years. This isn’t any sort of confirmation of upcoming LEGO Shrek sets but maybe it’s something on the cards for 2026.
