The Book

Chris McVeigh is a quite prolific builder in the LEGO community. Not only has he created numerous series of MOCs such as Brick Sketches and various LEGO recreations of electrical devices. Chris has also turned his build skills into creating various festive tree decorations. Many of which were collated together for the 2016 book LEGO Christmas Ornaments. Two years on and a follow-up has just hit the bookshelves.

The second book features 16 new decorations to build, from traditional trinkets to some of Chris’ most famous MOCs transformed into mini decorations. What I really like about Chris’ creations are the fact he provides element numbers for all the bricks needed and his instructions are on par with those produced by the LEGO Group. This combination makes the book easy to follow and even easier to source the required elements from Bricklink or LEGO Bricks & Pieces service. Even if you can’t find the correct prices, the instructions are so well presented, you can easily create the basic innages of a decorations and add you own twist the outside.

Overall

As mentioned above LEGO have decided to continue their Build To Give Christmas campaign, and The Christmas Ornaments Book Vol. 2 is a great source of inspiration to get involved and help this less fortunate this year. This book is also the perfect companion to help you and your LEGO loving family build a new Christmas tradition. With your LEGO creations adorning your Christmas Trees for many years to come.
