Smyths Toys To Start Selling LEGO Display Cases

LEGO® display cases are either high-priced specialist products or generic options used to display a number of items. Smyths Toys will soon be offering an option which sits between both. They will soon be selling a pair of unofficial LEGO Minifigure Display Cases. Both have a covered front and can be wall mounted, they also include studded plates on the shelves. The larger case also lights up, with LED lights, powered by batteries. Both cases can be pre-order now for home delivery or collection in your local Smyths Toys store, they are expected to be available in June. The 5-Level Minifigure Display Case can be found here and the 3-Level Minifigure Display Case can be found here.

Update: Jay from Jay’s Brick Blog has noted these are similar to a product sold in Australia through K-Mart and that it can cause issues when connecting minifigures. Not sure if the generic plates can be removed and replaced with genuine LEGO elements. But it maybe advisable to connect minifigures via an additional plate connected to one which comes with the display cases.
