LEGO VIDIYO Getting A Star Wars Rebrand?

It’s back but as we know it. Yes, LEGO® VIDIYO is set to make a sensational return, thanks to the power of the Force. After giving us an early look at Republic Fighter Tank, LEGO.com is the source of a new LEGO Star Wars product line. Under the ‘Learn More’ tab is an image attained to something called Cantina Beats. Which appears to take inspiration from the infamous music theme created in partnership with Universal Music. The theme saw colourful characters and crazy stages combine to create a unique music-inspired array of sets. Despite extensive feedback from LEGO fans, the theme was paused in order to refocus the experience. It was later confirmed that the theme had been officially canned.

However, you can’t keep a good theme down and it’s a universally known fact that anything to do with Star Wars will become an instant hit with zero negative opinions. Rumours suggest the theme will be brought back under the LEGO Star Wars banner and will be known as Cantina Beats. It will focus on the musical folk from a galaxy far, far away and will follow the adventures of an all-new Cantina Band. It seems you’ll be able to collect various Minifigures and take them on tour across the galaxy. Bring the band to life with the LEGO Star Wars Cantina Beats app and share your creation from Tatooine to Endor and beyond.

One of the most exciting elements of the new theme is the ability to bring the music to previous LEGO Star Wars sets. Bring the beats to Boba Fett’s Throne Room. Sing in the swamps of Dagobah with Yoda’s Hut or rock out in the Mandalorian Forge. It seems this will see the theme focus on minifigures, with sets that are already available being overlayed with jazzy graphics using AR app. The theme is expected to launch later this year.
