The Summer range of new LEGO® titles from DK Books have started to appear and the publisher has sent me a copy of the recently released LEGO Super Nature book to take a look at. LEGO Super Nature is the latest in the line of ‘Inspirational Ideas’ books which have previously included Epic History, Amazing Vehicle and Animal Atlas. As well as offer build ideas the book also includes a number of elements to create four exclusive minibuilds. So here’s my review of the LEGO Super Nature book and its minibuilds.

LEGO Super Nature is filled with inspirational images of numerous nature-themed builds. The book is split into different chapters, each focused on a different aspect of the natural world. Toward the back of the book, there’s a couple of pages that highlight some of the useful elements you can find in your own LEGO collection and a brief section. The builds dotted throughout the book have been created by fan designers including Nathan Dias, Jason Briscoe and Jessica Farrell.
Each page features colourful pictures of various LEGO creatures, critters and plants, as well as fun facts about them and brief snippets of building advice in the Build It boxouts. This book isn’t filled with instructions apart from those for the four exclusive builds, the models throughout the book are meant to inspire you to builds thing with your own bricks. Even if you don’t have the exact elements, you can get creative and build whatever you want, using the images in the book as a guide.
Inside the front cover, you’ll find a polybag of LEGO elements, which can be used to build four nature-themed minibuilds. These are very basic and are similar to the builds often found inside the LEGO Advent Calendars. The minibuilds include a bee, a clownfish, a flower and a cactus.
LEGO Super Nature is available now from Amazon UK and will be published in North America on July 6th.
