The latest LEGO® Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series set has been revealed today and unfortunately, the first batch of sets carry a slight packaging error. The logos used on the box and instructions for the set have been mixed up. This means the first batch of sets will carry Galactic Empire insignia when it should be the Galactic Republic logo. The actual set is not affected by the error just the packaging. Future sets will be corrected to carry the correct logo. Here’s a short statement from the LEGO Star Wars Design Team.
The dark side blurred our vision and we used the Galactic Empire logo on packaging and instructions for the 75309 LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship, while of course we should have used the logo of the Galactic Republic. However, the infiltration didn’t affect the actual model- which proudly displays the Galactic Republic logo. We are working to update the packaging and instructions
