Minifigures are a much loved part of LEGO® sets. So much so they have even been expanded to form their own collectible series of characters. It’s those characters who play a starring role in the latest LEGO title from DK Books. Meet the Minifigures highlights some of those characters, along with fun facts and a few inspirational builds. But the biggest draw is an exclusive minifigure character included with the book. So here’s a look at both the book and it’s unique minifigure.

The presentation of the book is similar to past DK LEGO titles. Each page is focused on a particular character, with some pages featuring snippets of information about the character. These are more ‘biographical’ as opposed to facts about their creation or design. This isn’t a character encyclopedia or guide book, so the characters it focuses on are limited. It seems to focus on the characters from the collectible minifigures line, with most of them being from the later, most recently released series.
Unlike similar minifigure-focused books, Meet the Minifigures also features traits of other LEGO titles from DK Books. These are the titles which offer inspirational builds. So this book also features a number of LEGO creations you can attempt to build with your own LEGO bricks. The inspirational builds are loosely tied to the characters in the book.
Of course, for some, the most interesting part of the book will be the exclusive minifigure it includes. This is dubbed the ‘Rock Star’. The parts used to create the minifigure are all unique, with a pair of white legs, featuring lighting bolt print. The torso is quite cool, with skull design on the front and an rather 80s looking ‘Tour’ logo in the back, which is unfortunately partly obscured by the long black hair piece. The head is also great, with two faces both featuring a splash of face paint. It also includes a mic stand accessory. It’s a great characters, which offers something unique and not just previously used parts of other minifigures.
