A new LEGO® Ideas contest has begun and it offers another chance for a fan creation to become a future LEGO gift for purchase set. The theme is STEM and unlike other LEGO Ideas contests, there is a limit to how many elements you can use. You can just a maximum of 250 elements and a minimum of 150, so think of a set like past Ideas GWP such as the Sailboat, Vintage Car or Rocket Ride. One winner will have the chance to have their creation turned into a future promotional LEGO gift along with a number of LEGO sets plus a few past LEGO GWP sets. Learn how to enter below.
Ready, Set, Go STEM
Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths are for movers and shakers, but can you create a small STEM themed model that features some sort of movement to stand the chance of becoming a real LEGO Gift with Purchase?
In this contest, you need to build a model which is at most 250 bricks, with a minimum of 150 bricks. You can use LEGO Technic elements to make your build move, but please use primarily LEGO System elements.
We’re not looking for too complex functions, so please keep your movement simple. For example, a rotation, push or pull, or something opening and closing. Tensegrity builds are allowed, but the model should also work and look nice when it is not in a tensegrity position.
Although we love cars, we’re looking for something a little different this time. Up for the challenge? Let’s go!
One Grand Prize Winner will have the chance to get their design turned into a future LEGO GWP set plus:
- 21332: LEGO Ideas Globe
- 42130: LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR
- 42139: LEGO Technic All-terrain vehicle
- 42120: LEGO Technic Rescue Hovercraft
- 40487: LEGO Sailboat Adventure (GWP)
- 40448: LEGO Vintage Car (GWP)
