Since the LEGO® DOTS theme was introduced it’s been the source of some interesting LEGO innovations. From wearable bracelets to buildable home decor, with each new wave of sets, those innovations expand and the recently released sets feature two interesting new elements. Both are fairly similar but serve different purposes. So here’s a closer look at both the LEGO DOTS Stitch-on Patch and the Adhesive Patch.
41954: Adhesive Patch
Set Name: Adhesive Patch | Set Number: 41954 | Pieces: 95 | Price: £5.99/$5.99/6.99€
The set includes two bags of DOTS elements, which are basically a mixture of different coloured and shaped 1×1 tiles. The colour scheme is largely primary colours with blue, red, white and yellow joined by pink and pale blue. These can all be used to decorate the special 8×8 plate. It’s a solid material unlike some of the other DOTS products. I guess it’s similar to a baseplate but is more rigid. On the reserve of the plate is a sticky surface, peeling off the backing allows the plate to be stuck on most flat surfaces. There’s a leaflet in the box, which offers some inspirational patterns.
41955: Stitch-on Patch
Set Name: Stitch-on Patch | Set Number: 41955 | Pieces: 95 | Price: £5.99/$5.99/6.99€
This isn’t the first time a ‘material’ patch has been seen. With the link-up between LEGO DOTS and Levi, many of the Levi clothing items featured a rubber patch sewn into the material. This patch is very similar, with a 6×6 surface of studs but not exactly the same. Firstly it has rounded corners and features a series of holes, allowing it to be threaded onto any material surface. There are a number of 1×1 tiles included in the pack. Their colour scheme is quite muted with dark blue, yellow, white and pale purple along with a small number of transparent purple round tiles.
