LEGO Christmas Train Puzzle Hands-on

Chronicle Books has been creating a number of interesting LEGO-branded goodies and one of their most popular releases are the LEGO® Jigsaw Puzzles. If you’ve ever completed or merely seen a jigsaw puzzle, then you pretty much know how they ‘work’. So conducting a highly detailed review of a jigsaw puzzle seems a little pointless. However, Chronicle Books has sent a few of their newly released LEGO products to take a look at, including the Christmas Train Jigsaw and there are a few interesting things which are worth highlighting. So here’s a brief hands-on look at the LEGO Christmas Train Puzzle.

The LEGO Group have been making great efforts to eliminate unnecessary single-use plastics from their products and this covers LEGO-branded products from other companies. Previous LEGO puzzles have seen the jigsaw pieces supplied in a plastic bag and now they come loose in a cardboard tray.

Unlike other LEGO puzzle designs, the Christmas Train is split into four 100-piece sections. These can still be combined to create a larger image. But it also makes the jigsaw a little easier to complete. This is due to each of the four sections having different patterned designs on the back of the pieces. As an added bonus, there is a small poster of the image of the jigsaw. This helps as you piece together the puzzle.

It’s a great puzzle for a family to sit down together and complete, maybe over the Christmas period, considering the subject matter. For those interested, the sets featured on the puzzle include 10245: Santa’s Workshop, 10275: Elf Club House, 10293: Santa’s Visit, 10254: Winter Holiday Train and 40499: Santa’s Sleigh.
