LEGO Birthday Minifigure Pack Hands-on

Following a look at the LEGO® Stores Valentine’s Day Build a Minifigure Pack, I’ve received the recently released Birthday Pack. For those who haven’t visited a LEGO Store, they offer an experience called Build A Minifigure, which provides the ability to create your own trio of unique characters. The selection of parts to create these characters has been expanded to include some unique pieces only found in the stores’ BAM section. They have also started to create pre-packed sets themed around seasonal events such as Christmas, Easter and Valentine’s Day. The latest is themed around the celebration of Birthdays.

The Birthday Pack features three unique characters – a Party Clown, Cake Suit Fan and a new coloured Brick Suit. Each of the characters are similar to previous Minifigures, most often featured in various series of the Collectible Minifigures. So we’ve seen a few Clowns, but this one includes unique face, torso and leg print detail. Although it doesn’t use the traditional bright prime colours, often associated with Clowns, the detail on the Minifigure is great. His look is completed with a pink bowler hat and a red balloon animal. The Cake Suit Fan uses the ‘slice’ suit piece, which has also been used to represent a slice of pizza and a watermelon wedge. The detailing on this Minifigure is amazing, even though much of it is hidden under the suit, which is used here to recreate a slice of tasty cake. The final character uses Brick Suit introduced in the Series 18 Minifigures, since then it reappeared in different colours in others Minifigures series and BAM offerings. The one featured here is in the colour of the moment – Light Royal Blue.
