How LEGO Spider-Man Entered The Spider-Verse

Earlier this year, LEGO® Spider-Man made a surprise appearance in Sony’s animated Spider-Verse sequel, Across the Spider-Verse. The brief visit to Earth-13122 may have been nothing but a fun Easter Egg, but it has a much more detailed story. IGN breaks down the LEGO scene from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. As widely reported the scene was animated by 14-year-old animator and LEGO fan Preston Mutanga. His recreation of the Spider-Verse trailers soon brought him to the attention of Sony and the creative team behind the film, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. They just so happen to be the brains behind The LEGO Movie. The LEGO connection doesn’t stop there with the LEGO universe in Across the Spider-Verse is noted as Earth-13122, the universe in which the LEGO Marvel games take place.
