Amazon is one of the world’s biggest retailers and as well as selling numerous products themselves, they also allow others to sell via the Amazon Marketplace. If you’ve recently browsed Amazon’s digital shelves for LEGO® products, it’s also a guarantee that you’ll have been greeted with plenty of fake and counterfeit products. In fact head over to Amazon UK, search LEGO and filter to recently added and over half the products shown are counterfeit products, namely LEPIN. Amazon now plan to allow brands to directly combat these fake products, which infringe on real products. Amazon Project Zero will allow companies such as the LEGO Group, to directly remove these counterfeit products themselves. Previous safeguards would mean counterfeit items for sale on Amazon would need to be reported and a lengthy process to have them removed would ensure. As mentioned above this could greatly benefit the LEGO Group and stop products like this confusing shoppers. Learn more about Project Zero here.
