Changes To LEGO Ideas Submission Rules

As you may have already seen LEGO® Ideas is changes some of the rules fan builders must follow when submitting a design to the platform. The changes include an increase to the maximum amount of elements a submission can contain, a new minimal amount of elements for a project and changes to the number of minifigures a fan submission can include. Full details can be found on the LEGO Ideas website. These changes only apply to projects submitted from today onwards and will not affect any projects currently active on LEGO Ideas.

  • The maximum number of elements a build can feature will be raised from 3,000 to 5,000 elements.
  • A minimum 200-element count will be required for submissions.
  • A new minifigure-to-element ratio guide.

Suggested minifigure count:

  • 200-400 – 3
  • 401-600 – 4
  • 601-800 – 5
  • 801-1000 – 6
  • 1001-1500 – 7
  • 1501-2000 – 8
  • 2001-2500 – 9
  • 2501-3000 – 10
  • 3001-3500 – 11
  • 3501-4000 – 12
  • 4001-4500 – 13
  • 4501-5000 – 14
