Although LEGO® Insiders’ Days are still on, you don’t need to be an Insiders member you shop the LEGO Summer Sale. You can save up to 50% in the sale, with some of the bigger LEGO sets now carrying a discount. The availability and discounts will vary depending on region but in the UK, you’ll find sets such as the Spider-Man Art, Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell and Captain America’s Shield all in the sale. Plus get double points on LEGO City, Friends, Technic and LEGO | Disney purchases (excluding Star Wars, Marvel and Indiana Jones) and additional free gifts if you are an Insiders member.

Note that the double insider points are limited to certain lines only, as you said, which is disappointing.
