Today, the LEGO Group officially unveils the latest addition to the popular LEGO® Icons Modular Buildings Collection, with the reveal of the Natural History Museum. Unlike most recent sets in the range, you haven’t got you wait until next year as it’s being released on December 1st and it can even be pre-ordered today. The Natural History Museum is a highly detailed set featuring two floors of exhibits, several minifigures and even a Brachiosaurus skeleton. It’s also one of the biggest modular buildings to date. Although it’s not been specified, it appears there will also be a special GWP set, as there’s an image of a blue snack van next to the new modular in one of the lifestyle images. Check out the new LEGO Modular below and you can pre-order it now ahead of it’s release on December 1st, this year.
Unlocking History Brick by Brick: The LEGO Group unveils the highly anticipated the LEGO Icons Natural History Museum Set
30th October 2023: Today, the LEGO Group announces the arrival of its largest modular set by piece count and one of the most requested building themes by fans – the LEGO® Icons Natural History Museum Set.
The LEGO Icons Natural History Museum Set is the perfect addition to the LEGO Modular Buildings Collection, and features fresh architecture, new building techniques and countless fun stories. The two-story model includes dual atriums, a removable roof and middle floor, and is packed with brick-built exhibits and details.
To the right of the entrance, visitors are welcomed by a giant brick-built Brachiosaurus skeleton. This dinosaur is so large, its neck rises above the first floor and stretches into the second. It’s flanked by several smaller exhibits including a sabretooth skull, a fossil, and yes, even dinosaur eggs. Up on the landing, the museum’s geology section showcases a colourful array of quartz, geodes, stalagmites and spotlighting a cutaway of the earth and its molten core.
Heading up to the second floor, witness a large map of the planet showing the projected orbit of a new rocket, a detailed orrery of the solar system, and a diorama of a future space base. Up on the roof, the museum’s curator recounts their experiences and travels in their detailed office writing memoirs.
