London Gatwick Airport now has two of the first LEGO® Airport stores. The new stores are located in both of Gatwick’s North and South Terminals after security checks so can only be visited by those travelling. The stores will offer pretty much everything you’d expect a LEGO store to have including a number of LEGO retail exclusives. The stores are operated by Lagardère Travel Retail in partnership with the LEGO Group. Oddly, a number of LEGO stores have been opened at US airports by Marshall Retail Group, which is owned by UK retailer WHSmith. They are not involved in the UK stores. As well as stores at Gatwick, there’s also a new LEGO Store in Stansted Airport. So it seems airports are better served by access to LEGO stores, whereas there are numerous cities across the UK with no easy access to a brand store. Including pretty much the entire East Midlands.
