DK Books have been publishing a series of LEGO® books under the Ideas banner for a while now. Many of them have been tied to a seasonal event, with previous titles including LEGO Christmas Ideas, LEGO Halloween Ideas and LEGO Magical Ideas. Each of these books has featured an exclusive minibuild model and a selection of inspirational build ideas, in keeping with the theme of the book. The latest addition to the series is LEGO Party Ideas, which is filled with celebrational build ideas and includes an exclusive Party Cake minibuild. Here is my review of the newly published LEGO Party Ideas book.

The slight tweak in the format of the Ideas book continues, once again resulting in a compact book. Although a little smaller, it still includes 80 pages of build ideas, instructions for the included minibuild and an overview of useful elements. In a similar fashion to other Ideas books, it doesn’t provide you with step-by-step instructions to build any of the models featured in the book, beyond the exclusive LEGO minibuild. Instead, it acts as a point of inspiration to help you build various party-themed creations with the LEGO bricks you already own. Although it can be frustrating to recreate some of these builds, they aren’t meant to offer a step-by-step more of a creative starting point. The party theme results in builds such as decorations, games and gift ideas.
The book includes a polybag of elements needed to build an exclusive Party Cake model. Unlike previous minibuilds, this is a little more standard, and could easily be recreated with your own elements. Still, it’s a cute little build and it’s always nice to have physical bricks in a LEGO book.
LEGO Party Ideas is published by DK Books and is available now from Amazon and selected book retailers. LEGO Christmas/Holiday Ideas, LEGO Halloween Ideas, LEGO Cute Ideas and LEGO Magical Ideas are also available now.
