This fun little set is dubbed Monkie Kid’s Underwater Journey and features Monkie Kid as he discovers the watery resting place of the legendary staff of the Monkey King. Polybags are neat little ways to get a taster of a theme. This particular set could easily be a small boxed set. It includes a small scuba jet, which uses the colour scheme of Monkie Kid. There’s also a treasure chest, filled with gold bars. But the main buildable aspect of the set is a small reef. This sandy dune features a few coral elements, vines and nestled amongst them is the legendary staff.
There are three Minifigures included in the set, two sword-wielding skeletons and of course Monkie Kid. This version of the character uses a new torso and legs introduced in this year’s sets and is only featured in two other Monkie Kid sets. He also uses a couple of rare coloured scuba elements including flippers and a breather collar. It’s definitely one of the best of the new 2022 LEGO Polybag sets and the spend limit isn’t that bad compared to some recent promotions. Plus there are some amazing new LEGO Monkie Kid and NINJAGO currently available.
