LEGO® VIDIYO just won’t go away, despite being rested or permanently retired, depending on who you believe, the beloved and hated LEGO theme keeps rearing its head. In recent months it’s been nominated for a Toy of the Year Award (which I would love to see it win) and has opened an island in Animal Crossing. Now it’s back again with a limited clothing collection from Billionaire Boys Club. The ‘capsule collection’ will include two kids t-shirts and an adult-sized on each featuring characters from the VIDIYO theme. The collection will launch on November 22nd.

That’s the problem with planning so far in advance. You have to hope your product is going to be successful. But, when it fails or falters and you’ve invested in a whole range of supporting products and related events, such as the recent concerts at Legoland and elsewhere, you just have to go with it!
Vidiyo itself is a really fun product. But, in my experience, the AR aspect fell short and the online video sharing experience was doomed to fail because there’s too many other platforms that are much better. Even the draw of a safe environment for kids to upload their own work, just wasn’t enough and had so many flaws!
I hope this line continues because what TLG produced in physical bricks was awesome!
