For those eagerly awaiting the LEGO® Titanic set, it’s now available to pre-order ahead of its release on November 8th. The LEGO Titanic is one of the longest and largest LEGO models to date, made up of 9,090 pieces and measuring over a metre in length. It’s highly detailed with a view inside the ship from a cross-section showing the interior and display stand to show it off in style. The LEGO Titanic set is available for pre-order now from LEGO Stores and LEGO.com. It’s already on ‘backorder’ so pre-orders will take a little longer to arrive in some regions. The set is currently still showing as ‘Coming Soon November 8th’ in North America.

It was originally meant to be a VIP pre-order, so I would suggest signing out, clearing cache for LEGO.com, signing back in again. I assume you are a VIP member if you aren’t sign up for free and try again once signed in with your LEGO ID. Failing that contact LEGO C/S. It shows up for me so it’s definitely available, in the UK at least.

I ordered at about 12:05am in the United States and the order went through fine. However, this afternoon I got an email saying it was on back order and would be shipped November 30th.

I was finally able to get out of queue at 12:15am and complete a preorder. BUT, once order was completed at 12:18am my status shows “BACKORDERED” on my receipt. At no time while on the Titanic set page or during the checkout process was this status disclosed. I feel totally deceived. I’m very skeptical that it will ship anywhere near the November 8th release date. Really wish I had saved the money and took my chances getting in line early next Monday at my local LEGO store.

Pre-ordered at 1am. Received an order status update stating the order had been placed on backorder with an expected availability date of 12/8.

Given that Lego tends to give you a shipping update asap I am thinking that for those who got the preorder in that it will ship very close to 8 november. The notice you and I got was that it would ship BY 30November. I also ordered the home alone set at the same time. And that one has been shipped already.

Also, I wonder if the delay (if there is one) is due to the items being stuck on a container ship on the west coast waiting to be unloaded??? Given that companies often have “just in time” deiivery so they don’t keep much inventory it’s quite possible this backlog is causing this delay.

LEGO sets for North America are made in the Mexico factory. Generally the only items to arrive by ship from Asia are the non-brick promo gear.

I never received an update with a new date. All I got was my receipt emailed to me with a link to the order status. When I go to that it’s just my order summary and has a status of Backordered. No dates listed anywhere. Odd…
