A Search & Find Celebration of LEGO History Book Review

There has been a multitude of LEGO® books over the past few years. It’s not surprising that the most interesting LEGO Books are those which include physical LEGO elements such as Minifigures or mini sets. But a rather unassuming book has just been released and it’s a glorious trip through the history of the LEGO Group. LEGO Everything is Awesome: A Search-and-find Celebration of LEGO History may not be the most snappy title but it is an impressive little book.

One of the best elements of the Ameet published LEGO books have always been the illustrations. They are often seen as a small part of the overall LEGO Book package, especially in those titles which feature bricks. But I’ve always admired the hand-drawn images that weave together the stories or building steps. It’s those which form the core of this book.

LEGO Everything is Awesome: : A Search & Find Celebration of LEGO History

The idea behind the book is similar to Where’s Wally/Waldo, so each page features a beautifully illustrated image filled with LEGO-related items. Each of the double-page spreads is dedicated to an era of LEGO history, beginning way back in 1932. Each era features important characters, themes and sets, among which you’ll be tasked to find certain items. Beyond finding the elements listed on each page, there are extra things to find towards the back of the book.

Even if the puzzle aspect of the book is of little interest to you, sweeping across amazing illustrated images will delight any LEGO fan. There are even things dotted around the pages I’ve never seen before. It’s a simple book but is a delightful and interesting journey across the history of the LEGO Group.

LEGO Everything is Awesome: : A Search & Find Celebration of LEGO History

You’ll find the LEGO Everything is Awesome: A Search and Find Celebration of LEGO History from various book retailers both in-store and online, as well as Amazon now. Please note for some reason the US version of the book has a different (and better) cover, the content within the book is the same.

  1. I been searching 😀 this book out. It seems that the UK mainly has the softcover variant, whereas the spaceman cover is a hardback I believe. Perhaps you can confirm with your copy?

The illustrations are great, but would really prefer a hardback for wear and tear reasoning.

    • Yes the UK version is only paperback. You can order the hardback version with your UK Amazon account but there is obviously a shipping cost and it looks like it would take a while to arrive
