One of the often-overlooked LEGO® product lines is the LEGO Minifigure Accessory Packs. Despite their naming, their focus is very much on the Minifigures characters found in the sets. The basis of each pack is three or four Minifigures, along with a minibuild of some sort and a small selection of accessories. Over the past few months, we’ve been treated to a number of different packs based on various LEGO themes. These have included a Marvel Spider-Man pack, a LEGO Monkie Kid pack, a Harry Potter pack and most recently one based on the delayed Minions movie. These packs are exclusively available from LEGO stores, LEGOLAND locations and LEGO.com. Not only are they a great way to bulk out an online order, but they are also the source of some decent Minifigures and elements. Here’s a closer look at four of the most recently released Minifigure Accessory Packs.
40511: Minions Kung Fu Training
Set No: 40511 | Minifigures: Bob, Kevin, Gru & Belle Bottom | Pieces: 54
Although the movie has yet to be released, the basis of the story is it recounts the moment a young Gru first meets his army of yellow Minions. Gru is obviously much younger than we are used to seeing him, which is kind of portrayed in his Minifigure. It’s the same as the version featured in the Unstoppable Bike Chase set. Despite the set being Kung Fu Trainer, the Minions are in their regular outfits, instead of the martial arts-themed outfits featured in the Kung Fu Battle set. Both of the Minions have appeared in other sets, but this is the cheapest way to get them. The Belle Bottom Minifigure is exclusive and can only be found in this pack. The buildable element of the pack is a training dummy and there are various other weapon accessories included.

40500: Wizarding World Minifigure Accessory set
Set No: 40500 | Minifigures: Harry Potter, Mr. Borgin and 2 wizard Minifigures | Pieces: 33
This is the second of the Harry Potter Minifigures Packs, with the focus on this pack being Wizards in place of students. Every single character featured in this pack is technically exclusive, although each of them is made up of parts that have featured in other sets. However, although they can be found in other sets, there are still fairly rare, for example, the female Wizard’s torso has only been used on Vicky Vale from the 1989 Batmobile set. The buildable part of the build is a Borgin & Burkes shop stall complete with various wizarding objects including a couple of neat printed jars. The only truly exclusive element of the park is a printed 2×3 flat tile listing Dumbledore’s army.

40472: Monkie Kid’s RC Race
Set No: 40472 | Minifigures: Monkie Kid, Mei and Clone Bull Bob | Pieces: 57
Of all the Minifigure Pack featured here, this one only features three but the buildable elements are a little more substantial. These include a winners podium, which features a unique printed 2×2 brick. There are also two RC models based on Iron Bull Tank and the Cloud Roadster. The three Minifigures include Mei, who one of the larger of the first wave of sets. Both Clone Bull Bob and MK are kitted out in unique outfits. They both use the same set of torsos and legs, which have a little bit of an Akira vibe to them.

40454: Spider-Man versus Venom and Iron Venom
Set No: 40500 | Minifigures: Spider-Man, Venom, Pork Grind and Iron Venom | Pieces: 63
The draw of this set is most certainly the Minifigures, but continuing the long-held tradition of randomly featuring a vehicle in a Spider-Man set, the pack includes a Venom-themed car. It’s a very basic car as well but as I mentioned the Minifigures are the star of the show. Both Spidey and Venom have appeared in numerous other sets, with the other two being exclusive to this pack. Pork Grind is the venomized take of Spider-Ham and although we’ve had a venomized Iron Man before this one features a uniquely printed helmet.
