I think it’s to assume that most people will be picking up this book purely for the Minifigure, so I won’t dwell too much on the book’s content. It’s basically a loose story focused on Yoda’s travels across the galaxy. Along the way, he visits a number of iconic Star Wars locations. The imagery used across the books is a mixture of product images and unique graphics. This isn’t a book that includes any build instructions or inspirational models. If you want a look inside the book, you’ll find a few page previews here.
The last few LEGO Star Wars-themed books which have included Minifigures haven’t really offered anything too exciting or rare. This book straddles both camps, it’s a character who has appeared in Minifigure-form before but it also has exclusive print details and accessories. The Yoda Minifigure has changed a lot over the long history of the LEGO Star Wars theme. The Explorer Yoda uses the most recent moulded headpiece, which has printed hair on it. The torso is unique to this book. It has a few backpack straps printed on it and a tiny Rebel Alliance insignia badge. The print nicely ties into the backpack element included with the book. Other accessories include a stick, camera and a unique 2×2 printed tile featuring a map of ‘The Galaxy’ I’d certainly say this version of Yoda is unique enough to warrant picking up the book.
The LEGO Star Wars Yoda’s Galaxy Atlas book is available now from most major online booksellers including Amazon. It will be published in North America next week.
