Earlier today a new follow-up to the LEGO® Rebuild The World ad campaign was released, it will premiere on UK TV tomorrow night during the Great British Bake-off. If you’ve already given it a watch, you may have noticed that just like the first Rebuild the World mini-movie, it features few familiar-looking things throughout the fun new advertisement. It’s also a very inclusive ad, showing LEGO is for everyone. There’s a boy playing with a Friends set, girls racing LEGO City cars, a young girl in a wheelchair and two male astronauts getting married. But the real focus is the world of LEGO along with its various characters and themes. Here’s the full advert.
It’s filled with plenty of nods to the long history of the LEGO brands. But have you spotted them all? Here’s a round-up of all the ones I’ve found if you have seen anymore let us know in the comment.
The first and fairly obvious Easter Egg is the Hulkbuster suit from LEGO Marvel theme and of course the epic MCU movies.
A brave Princess Knight faces a firey dragon, these represent the LEGO Disney Princess theme but also includes a couple of classic over-sized LEGO elements including a crown and sword.
Next we visit a wedding, which is filled with many of the characters from several series of LEGO Minifigures. These include the Chicken Suit Guy, Fox Suit Girl, Queen, Cave Woman, Martial Arts Guy and 80s Musician, along with many others.
There is also a nod the Classic Space here as well with several Classic Space Man characters in the audience. Including a few coloured suits yet to appear in a LEGO set.
Next to LEGO City where the endless chase between the LEGO City Police and Bad Guys is shown. There are over-sized LEGO elements here including the stolen money matching the design seen in sets, a LEGO mug and the Robbers are even wearing the same style beanie hats as many of the crooks do in LEGO City sets.
As the chase speeds through the city, a real-world version of the LEGO Technic set 42103: Dragster zooms by. This expands the LEGO Rebuild the World campaign to include Technic sets. In the extended TV spot, a real-world version of the set 60253: Ice-cream Truck is driven through a flaming hoop by the Daredevil Minifigure from Series 7 LMFs.
If the LEGO City PD though the had trouble with a pair of robbers, they ain’t seen nothing yet as the Imperial Empire takes to the streets. A garrison of Stormtroopers stalks the street along with an AT-AT. But even large imperial walkers need a snooze every so often.
Next, a gang of characters who clearly represent the Masters of Spinjitzu appear, complete with over-sized versions of their LEGO weapons, can be seen strolling down an alley.
Just before Grandma can unleash her foul mouth, she instead holds up a build-built duck, which is often used as a training tool for LEGO employees.
Next, a house is given a colourful makeover using some of the LEGO DOTS elements and patterns, as Minifigure-inspired characters, dragons and an AT-AT dance in the street.
Before the dancing continues on the dancefloor, as more character inspired by Collectible Minifigures show of their moves. There are many more included here, such as the Cowboy, Jewel Thief, Galatic Ranger and Maritan, along with many more.
Finally, as the advert comes to a close, the Millenium Falcon from Star Wars blasts across the moon, to a galaxy far, far away.
