Last year a new LEGO® theme was introduced called xtra. The range features products which are intended to be added to other LEGO sets and builds to enhance play. In the New Year two additional sets will join the range, one featuring sports accessories and the other plant based accessories. These Polybag sets features a selection of elements, some of which can be built into little minibuilds, with others being accessories for Minifigures or other builds. Because of the sparse nature of the sets, they are a little tricky to review in-depth. So instead here’s a closer look at each of the sets content.
40375: Sports Accessories
The xtra Sports Accessories pack features a number of sport related accessories, mainly for use with Minifigures. These include a couple of helmets, hockey sticks, roller skates and of course a trophy. These are joined by two minibuilds – a pair of hockey goals and a small archery target.

Kids will love this action-packed LEGO® xtra Sports Accessories Set (40375). This fun playset includes an array of LEGO sporting equipment, including hockey sticks, goals and a puck, roller skates, ice skates, skis, a buildable archery target and bow, skis and ski poles, minifigure helmets and a trophy element to inspire hours of competitive play. Creative youngsters will be thrilled with the chance to introduce some sporting fun and adventures to their existing LEGO sets.
40376: Botanical Accessories
The Botanical Accessories polybag, as the name would suggest, features a number of plant based elements. The only buildable part of the set is a nice little tree. The rest of the elements included would need to be incorporated into your own builds or other sets. I like the various different flowers and leaves included in the set, especially the newish red flowers.

Overall
The xtra sets are a great way to bring a little extra detail to your LEGO builds. They are particularly useful for MOC builders and those who like to create their own city scenes. To be fair they are a little difficult to review, as there is very little building involved. But what I can say is they are great add-on items for boosting up spend amount. The xtra range is available now from LEGO Brand Stores and LEGO.com.
