LEGO® Ideas continues to be a source of some impressive build skills and has given us an equally impressive selection of sets over the years. So I thought it was about the resurrect an old feature I use to do for the long defunct Bricks Magazine. So each month I’ll be rounding up some of my favourite Ideas projects, which deserve being highlighted. If you like want you see, follow the links and get voting. If a project reaches the magic number of 10,000 votes it could become a brand new LEGO set. There are also various stages of vote thresholds, which activates expended time which projects can remain active on LEGO Ideas. Giving them a better chance of getting to 10k. So let’s take a look at our favourite LEGO Ideas projects this month.

Created by one half of the series 1 LEGO MASTERS champions, Steve Guinness has shown off an amazingly creative collection of builds including this rather impressive typewriter. The classic typing instrument has been perfectly recreated with LEGO bricks and even has the same movement of the real thing.

The LEGO Store in London’s Leicester Square has become the template for flagship stores around the world. It’s more than just a shop but a complete LEGO experience, this modular style building does as impressive job of capturing the stores outer appearance and many fun in-store features. It’s an extremely well thought out build.

The Kakapo is a nocturnal ground-dwelling parrot found in New Zealand. It’s also critically endangered. This project not only hope to bring awareness to the creature plight but it also offers up a fun looking build. Creating natural elements with LEGO is never easy, but the builder has done an great job to capture the birds unique shape.

Andrew has already crafted a number of TV icons into LEGO build, including Doctor Who and The Flintstones. For his latest project, he’s gone Supermarionation. Gerry Anderson’s iconic TV show Thunderbirds has delighted TV audiences for a number of eras. Based on a team of brother who form part of International Rescue, who each pilot various rescue vehicles. The best of which is Thunderbird 2. Which lends itself well to being built from LEGO in a microscale.
Japanese Tea Garden by Coosey__Goosey
I adore the Japanese culture, the blend of tradition and technology fascinates me. I would love to visit Japan and discover the ancient temples dotted about the islands. Which is why this particular project captured by eye. It manages to perfectly capture a slice of the calm and serene Japanese life. It looks like it would be a satisfying build and an equally delightful display piece.
