The Book
Just like the other two titles we’ve taken a look at earlier this week, the LEGO DC Super Heroes Activity Book, features bespoke illustrated artwork throughout. I can’t stress how good this is, normally LEGO titles use photo of real LEGO, which there is nothing wrong with. And sometimes kids books based on licensed aren’t always given the best of attention. Not here, the stories, comicstrips and puzzles are all complimented by the artwork. I also love how many of the more recent sets are included in much of the pages. The puzzles are nice a varied with everything you’d expect such as spot the difference, dot-to-dot, and much more.
The Minifigure
It’s normally Batman who gets all the LEGO love, but recently some of his super friends have been getting more attention. The book includes a classic Flash Minifigure. The Flash made his first appearance 2014, with only three sets featuring this version of the character. The print detail is minimal but in keeping with the characters comic book appearance and it also includes the unique Flash helmet element. His rarity and general lower price point of the book compared to sets, makes the Activity Book the cheapest route to getting the character.
Overall
The DC Universe is filled with plenty of fun characters and crazy villains, but it’s often focused on Batman, especially where LEGO is concerned. So it’s a refreshing change to see another DC hero take the limelight. Although The Flash has appeared in a few LEGO sets over the last few years, this book is the cheapest way to add him to your collection. Plus the book is fun as well, with great artwork and fun things to do. You’ll find the LEGO DC Super Heroes Activity Book in all good book retailers, selected supermarkets and online from Amazon.
