A couple of weeks ago we revealed a new range of LEGO® titles from new LEGO publishing partner Centum Books. Who have very kindly sent us the new books to take a closer look. Over the next few days we’ll be reviewing the each of the new LEGO books, which include activity book, complete with LEGO Minifigures or stickers. To kick things off, we’ll be starting with the LEGO NINJAGO Activity Book, which is themed around the Sons of Garmadon storyline of the NINJAGO TV series and LEGO toy range. The book contains a nice mix of activities, stories and comics plus a LEGO Minifigure.

The Book
As the book clearly suggests on its cover, within you’ll find a collection of activities, stories and comic all themed around the world of NINJAGO. But unlike some other titles, the artwork throughout is bespoke and hand drawn in place of stock images of physical LEGO sets and minifigures. The artwork really is beautiful especially thanks to the unique setting of NINJAGO. This also intergrate well across the various different things to read and do in the book. These include visual puzzles, short stories and comics strips.
The Minifigure
The book also includes a Samurai X Minifigure. This is a slight variant to the version included in set 70642: Killow vs. Samurai X. With a slightly different datemono and a stick weapon made from a number of gold pieces. Samurai X is a cool Minifigure anyway but this particular version has great print detail and I prefer the bucket handle on the helmet compared to the more fancy one in set 70642.
Overall
These days there is a wide array of LEGO tiles from a number of different publishers, each of which have their own unique take on the LEGO brand. Although the inclusion of a Minifigure will tempt most LEGO fans, but I really do love the artwork. It’s great seeing physical LEGO in books but having bespoke illustrations make the book feel a little more special. Kids will definitely be entertained by the content and the minifigure. You’ll find the LEGO NINJAGO Activity Book in all good book retailers, selected supermarkets and online from Amazon.
