As Heartlake City expands, there are plenty of new adventures for the new gang of Friends to enjoy. That includes a trip to Heartlake Forest in the quaint Mobile Tiny House. Admittedly, it’s not the most excitingly named set but it does feature an unusual little mobile home, three of the main Friends characters and even more new animals to add to your collection. It also ponders a number of questions, like how the heck did a group of high school kids get a driver’s license and is it can caravan, mobile home or a house on wheels? Let’s find out in my look at the LEGO Friends Mobile Tiny House.

The set features three buildable sections, the first of which is a small slide of the outdoor with a campfire. This is a small patch of grass with a set of logs to sit on, positioned around a small fire. There are a couple of small trees which add a nice touch of detail to what is quite a small area. It’s joined by a small signpost which is pointing to the camping area as well as a lookout perch for a squirrel.
Next to build is a cute little car. Although the Friends sets have a similar basis of design as the LEGO City sets, Friends does have its own style. This is often seen with the vehicles found in Heartlake City. In order to accommodate the different shapes of the mini-doll, the overall design of the car is quite simple but it does mean all three characters can be easily placed inside the car. It has an odd colour scheme, orange, pale purple and white don’t really go together but it works for a Friends set.
The most significant part of the build is focused on a sort of cabin on wheels. It’s not what you’d consider a traditional caravan or mobile home to be. However, it does the same job. The only real connection it has to a caravan or mobile home is its ability to be towed by the car and the fact it’s on wheels. Removing those and you’re left with a delightful little cabin.
The cabin is full of detail, I particularly like how some of these have been built into the exterior walls of the cabin. These include a water tank, a door which becomes a table, complete with three seats and oddly a postbox. The roofs are topped with solar panels and a couple of leaf elements to give them a little more detail.
The inside is very detailed considering it’s quite a small space. It can be accessed by unclipping the towbar and opening out the two halves of the building. There’s a lot to find inside including a small bathroom area and kitchen. There are also sleeping areas which are found within the roof of the cabin. These can be accessed by opening the cabin or by folding back the roof panels. As mentioned in previous reviews, I’d highlight some interesting elements and the set has a couple. These include the catflap door, only found in yellow in this set. There’s also a great cabinet, which is similar to the elements and can hold draws, but it is much bigger and is used as a fridge in this set.
There are three mini-dolls featured in the set and they are all main characters. Leo and Paisley are both unique to this set. Although most of the parts which make them up have been used elsewhere, apart from Leo’s torso. Liann is the most common of the mini-dolls, appearing in three other sets. It’s odd how some of the new characters have multiple outfits yet others don’t. They are joined by four creatures. These include Churro, the slightly chunky cat and Popcorn the lizard, both only found in a couple of the new sets. There’s also a rabbit and squirrel, these are also fairly rare elements in these designs.
Overall
Despite the questions surrounding the legalities around a group of kids driving a car and towing a tiny house into the woods, this is a fun set. The car is very dinky yet has room for all three of the mini-dolls. The Mobile House features a number of great details both inside and across the exterior. The inside is especially impressive, offering quite a lot in such a tiny space. Although the Mobile House is quite unusual, that’s its best feature. I’m glad we’ve got this instead of a plain old caravan or flashy R.V.
