This year marks 90 years of LEGO® play and one of the newly released polybag sets takes its inspiration from a number of past LEGO vehicles. One of the first 90 Years of Play set to be released is 11021: LEGO Classic 90 Years of Play which shrinks down a number of classic LEGO sets into wonderful minibuilds. The set polybag companion does the same with a focus on cars. So here’s a look at the LEGO Classic 90 Years of Play Cars polybag.
Product Details
Set Name: 90 Years of Play Cars | Set Number: 30510 | Pieces: 71 | RRP: N/A | Availability: The Minifigure Store
For a polybag set, it features quite a few elements and a couple of big pieces as well. They are used to create four different LEGO vehicles. Those four vehicles in 90 Years of Cars polybag are inspired by past LEGO sets including 392: Formula 1 released in 1975, 6538: Rebel Roadster released 1994, 7236: Police Car released in 2005 and 31079: Sunshine Surfer Van released in 2018.
The simplistic nature of each build is perfectly suited to a polybag build but what I love the most is how the builds also have a classic feel to them. That’s not because they are inspired by old sets, they just have a similar minimal build as many of the earlier LEGO sets use to have. Despite the simple builds, each vehicle captures the look of the larger sets which have inspired them. Promotional availability of the set is currently unknown, I picked it up from The Minifigure Store. The larger 90 Years of Play set is available now.
