There’s been a couple of different LEGO® Harry Potter polybag sets released since the theme returned in 2018. Each one has featured a small scene inspired by moments from the movies as well as a Minifigure. Hermione’s Study Desk is no different but it does feature something a little new. To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the LEGO Harry Potter theme, each of the new sets features random Wizard Cards. This is the first new set beyond those currently available to feature one of these special tiles. So here’s an overall look at the polybag.

Being a polybag, buildable elements are minimal, but you do get a very simple but rather cool looking Study Desk. This uses Minifigure hand clip accessories to angle the writing board. I like the simplicity of the inkpot. You can’t really seat a Minifigure at it, but it looks good nonetheless. It’s only let down by the use of a plain 2×2 tile to represent writing paper. A little print detail here would have been great and quite effective.
As well as the writing desk, there’s also a small side table, upon which an owl is perched. It’s always nice to get a creature in a LEGO set and this version has only appeared in the much larger and more expensive Chamber of Secrets set.
There are a couple of printed elements including two envelopes, a spell page featured in the book accessory and the random Chocolate Frog Wizard Tile. If you happen to set these polybags for sale, they would be the cheapest way to get hold of these collectable tiles.
The set includes the youngest version of Hermione Granger, with the original single piece short legs. Although her torso has appeared in other sets, the use of it here makes the Minifigure exclusive as she hasn’t been featured wearing this particular design before.
