10316: The Lord Of The Rings: Rivendell Review Pt. 2
I’ve already taken a look at the first two sections of the new LEGO® The Lord of the Rings Rivendell set, along with its impressive line-up of minifigures. Now it’s time to take a look at the largest section of the set, the Great Hall of Rivendell. This is not only the biggest part of the build experience but also the most complex and the most important in terms of the connection to the moment the location is featured in...
10316: The Lord Of The Rings: Rivendell Review Pt. 1
It’s been over 20 years since Tolkien’s classic books were transformed into a trilogy of films, which are still considered cinematic masterpieces. The tales from Middle-earth followed the forming of a fellowship, who are tasked with returning the One Ring to Mordor and casting it into the fire from which it was forged. Those films led to a number of LEGO® sets inspired by the iconic trilogy of films. Even now, there is a...
LEGO 2023 Polybags Hands-on Part 2
After already taking a look at a few of the new 2023 LEGO® Polybags range, it’s time for the second part of my hands-on look at more of the latest promotional minisets. These new sets are also from online retailer Brick-a-brac and some of them are also available from selected Tesco stores. Look out for the usual boxes filled with a selection of different sets. The ones I’m looking at today include more from LEGO City and...
41730: Autumn’s House Set Review
Although the new range of LEGO® Friends sets is focused on a new generation of characters, they haven’t forgotten their roots. The 10 previous years of characters and storytelling haven’t been wiped away and the history of Heartlake City remains in place, even if the original five girls have gone on to have new adventures. One of them is all grown up and has remained in Heartlake City with her new family. But which of the...
LEGO 2023 Polybags Hands-on Part 1
One of the yearly LEGO® highlights continues to be low-cost polybag sets. These little tasters of various themes appear in all sorts of places, from promotions run in LEGO stores or online, at LEGOLAND stores, supermarkets and even magazines. Admittedly they aren’t always the easier things to track down but availability is getting better and some of the sets released this year, have already been revealed. I’ve found a few of the new...
41743: Hair Salon Set Review
It’s time for another LEGO® Friends set review and a look at the last of the smaller-scale sets. Hair Salons have been been the inspiration for a few previous Friends sets including one released in 2020. This is almost a remake of that set, as it features plenty of similar traits. But it still offers something new and is the largest of the Hair Salons to be featured in the LEGO Friends theme. Has a new generation of characters...
41735: Mobile Tiny House Set Review
As Heartlake City expands, there are plenty of new adventures for the new gang of Friends to enjoy. That includes a trip to Heartlake Forest in the quaint Mobile Tiny House. Admittedly, it’s not the most excitingly named set but it does feature an unusual little mobile home, three of the main Friends characters and even more new animals to add to your collection. It also ponders a number of questions, like how the heck did a...
