This week has seen Hollywood studios Paramount and Warner Bros. swallowed by Skydance. Warner Bros. has long been the home of TT Games, pioneers of the modern LEGO® games. Long before the merger, WB Games revealed it would focus on ‘in-house’ IPs such as Harry Potter and DC Comics. This obviously limits TT Games, which recently released LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. But their pool of inspiration could expand as Paramount’s new games studio and WB Games are set to be combined. This will mean popular franchises such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible and more are ripe for the LEGO Games treatment.
