After replicating Nintendo’s Game Boy and NES, along with the Atari 2600 and SEGA’s Mega Drive, the next console to get the LEGO® brick-built treatment is Sony’s debut console, the PlayStation. Released in 1994, the original PlayStation, also known as the PS1, changed the fortunes of Sony and gaming as a whole. Its disc-based, 3D graphics were revolutionary at the time and set Sony on the path to the gaming dominance it holds today. The 1911-piece LEGO Sony PlayStation is an almost 1:1 replica of the console and includes a DualShock controller and an opening disc tray. It also includes several PlayStation Easter eggs, including two dioramas inspired by Ape Escape and Gran Turismo. The LEGO Sony PlayStation Console set launches on October 1st and is rumoured to also come with a companion GWP set inspired by the adorable Astro Bot.

BILLUND, DENMARK, 3 SEPTEMBER 2026: Today, the LEGO Group invites fans to press ‘Start’ on a brick building trip down memory lane with the reveal of the LEGO® PlayStation™. This epic 1,911-piece set pays tribute to the console that redefined gaming, featuring the unmistakable grey silhouette of the original PlayStation® console, alongside its very first revolutionary controller.
Designed for adult builders, this premium display model celebrates the console that helped shape a generation of play. For the first time, fans can build a detailed, near 1:1 scale replica of the iconic console, measuring over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep. From plugging the brick-built controller into the console to pressing the tactile, functional Open and Power buttons, every detail has been designed to capture the ritual and excitement of ‘90s gaming on the original PlayStation console.
The real cheat code? Pop open the console to discover hidden, buildable dioramas inspired by two games that are a part of video game history. Builders can assemble a mini track from Gran Turismo™ (originally released in 1997) with tiny cars ready to race, and a scene from Ape Escape™ (released in 1999) featuring the game’s iconic red or blue monkey helmet. These dioramas can be concealed inside the console or pulled out to be displayed alongside your setup.
Following the reveal of the set at PlayStation’s State of Play broadcast, the LEGO PlayStation™ (72306) will be available for LEGO Insiders* Early Access from 1 October 2026, and for all from 4 October 2026, priced at £139.99 / €159.99 / $179.99.
