It’s fair to say Marvel and Star Wars are two of the biggest licensed LEGO® themes. Both popular franchises are set to crossover in 2027 in an official crossover event – Star Wars|Marvel: Hope Assembles. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the five-part comic series will see heroes from a galaxy far, far away head to Earth-616, where they will join forces with the Avengers. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom and many of Marvel’s villains will align with the Empire. The crossover is part of the 50th anniversary of Star Wars. Director and comic book aficionado Kevin Smith will write the story with art by David Marquez. But what’s this have to do with LEGO? Well, current rumours suggest a Star Wars x Marvel set could be on the way in 2027. Until the announcement of the comic series, many deemed such a rumour to be an amusing ruse. However, it appears we could actually be seeing two of the LEGO Group’s biggest themes collide in what could be one of next year’s craziest sets. As with all rumours, until they are confirmed by the LEGO Group or Disney, they are not official confirmations of future products.
