The unexpected duo have been training hard with the new LEGO Pokémon SMART Play sets. BILLUND, DENMARK, August 6, 2026: The LEGO Group has revealed that Terry Crews and Finn Wolfhard have taken their careers in a new direction, becoming LEGO Pokémon Trainers.
Both Terry and Finn teased an upcoming battle on their social channels, surprising everyone with their chosen LEGO Pokémon partners. For the epic battle, Finn selected his trusted Charizard, while Terry opted for an unexpected pick; the one and only, Jigglypuff. Rumours say this may be a calculated strategic move to throw Finn off his game.
“Terry is an amazing actor, but he won’t be acting surprised when me and my LEGO Charizard beat them. I’ve trained Charizard almost every day to be the best – we’re ready, bring it on!” Finn tried to rattle his rival Trainer before the epic battle showdown.
Terry’s response was quick and stern, “Beat us? Trust me, if there is one person on this planet who knows something about training – it’s me! Anyway, it’s not all train, train, train. My LEGO Jigglypuff has been loved and nurtured by yours truly. We’re tighter than tight, and you know that unbreakable bond will make us stronger than ever in battle.”
Both celebrity Trainers seem excited for the ultimate clash of “dreamy cuteness” vs “blazing fury”. The outcome will depend not on strong words, but on their mastery of proper training and bonding with their LEGO Pokémon partners.

From August 28 – 30, Pokémon and LEGO fans alike are invited to participate in the ultimate LEGO Pokémon SMART Play training experience as part of PokémonXP, which will be hosted alongside the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco.
To begin, guests will meet their LEGO Pokémon partner before embarking on a journey of discovery and adventure with the new LEGO® Pokémon™ SMART Play sets. Trainers are invited to bond with their LEGO Pokémon in the Bonding Zone, learning how to understand what it needs to thrive, before moving onto the Training Zone to build the LEGO Pokémon’s strength and ability.
The experience culminates in a final challenge: a focused, high-energy battle to put all their bonding and training to the test. It’s time to trust your LEGO Pokémon and prove what kind of Trainer you’ve become!
