With the addition of The Simpsons to Fortnite and their LEGO® Styles, it marks another chapter is the long-running history of the LEGO versions of The Simpsons. That makes it the perfect time to take a look back at The Simpsons LEGO journey. Long before The Simpsons became part of the Walt Disney Company and the introduction of adult-focused product lines, The Simpsons made their LEGO debut in 2014 with a set inspired by The Simpsons’ home at 742 Evergreen Terrace. Set 71006 transformed the famous home of the Simpsons’ family into a 2523-piece set. This featured their house, along with Homer’s battered pink car and minifigures including Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, Maggie and their left-handed neighbour, Ned Flanders.
A few months after the release of The Simpsons House set, a series of Simpsons-themed LEGO Minifigures were released. The Simpsons series featured 16 characters from the long-running animated show. The line-up included unique versions of Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Ned, which differed from those found in set 71006. Plus Grandpa Simpson, Milhouse, Krusty the Clown, Ralph Wiggum, Chief Wiggum, Apu, Nelson, Mr Burns, Itchy and Scratchy. They also included Simpson-themed accessories such as a Blinky fish bowl, Radioactive Man comic, a Kwik-E-Mart Squishee, a ‘I choo-choo-choose you’ Valentine’s Card and a Mr Burns teddy, Bobo.
The Milhouse minifigure from the first series of minifigures made a brief appearance in The LEGO Movie. He appeared during the gathering of the Master Builders in Cloud Cuckoo Land.
Around the same time as the LEGO Minifigure series was released, a special episode of The Simpsons aired called ‘Brick Like Me’. Episode 20 of the 25th season of the show also marked the show’s 25th anniversary and the 550th episode. Brick Like Me saw Homer wake up in a brick-built version of Springfield. Several locations from the show were featured in LEGO form, such as Springfield Elementary, the Comic Book Store and Moe’s. Oddly, the character’s appearance was vastly different to their real-world counterparts.
The Simpsons would return in 2015 with another large-scale set, this time inspired by Kwik-E-Mart. Springfield’s number one convenience store featured six minifigures with a unique version of Chief Wiggum plus exclusive versions of Snake and Apu.
Joining the Kwik-E-Mart set was a second series of LEGO Minifigures featuring 16 more characters from The Simpsons. Along with unique versions of Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Milhouse, the series also introduced Martin, Comic Book Guy, Professor Fink, Hans Moleman, Groundskeeper Willie, Edna Krabappel, Doctor Hibbert, Waylon Smithers, Patty and Selma. The series also introduced Santa’s Little Helper and Snowball II.
2015 was a good year for LEGO The Simpsons products. Characters from the show also appeared in LEGO Dimensions. The Simpsons inspired a Level Pack and two Fun Packs. These all included Simpsons-themed minibuilds and minifigures, which unlocked content in LEGO Dimensions. The Simpsons level was based on The Mysterious Voyage of Homer episode, where Homer goes on a chilli pepper-induced journey.
The Simpsons wouldn’t return to the world of LEGO bricks until 2018, when Homer and Krusty were transformed into LEGO BrickHeadz. The long-running series of uniquely designed characters features a selection of uniform features, such as their eyes and a pink 2×2 brick inside to represent. Homer is one of the only BrickHeadz to not include the pink brick; instead, his ‘brain’ was replaced with a doughnut.
The Simpsons made a surprise return in 2025, with a third large-scale set inspired by an iconic Springfield building. Now part of the Icons theme, the latest Simpsons set was inspired by Krusty Burger. The famous home of the Ribwich, the Krusty Burger and the Meat-favoured Sandwich, the clown-themed restaurant also featured five unique minifigures. These include Farmer Krusty, Squeaky-voiced Teen and Lou, plus a sauce-standed Homer.
Insiders who purchased the set during launch week could also get a unique GWP set inspired by the Simpsons’ living room. The diorama-style set included the iconic sofa featured in many of the opening ‘couch gag’ scenes and a TV advertising Krusty Burger.
The Simpsons’ latest LEGO endeavour comes via Fortnite. The Simpsons inspire the current season of Fortnite. Several characters have been transformed into player skins, and each has a corresponding LEGO Style. These can be unlocked via The Simpsons Battle Pass or purchased in the Item Shop. The Simpsons have also taken over LEGO Brick Life. The basic ‘life sim’ lets players decorate their home and complete quests to unlock additional content. The Springfield Festival Square is home to several Simpsons characters who give you quests to complete.
