LEGO® fans are suckers for collectables. These can be groups of certain minifigures, unique printed pieces or even something as simple as a particular element. The latest LEGO collectable was first introduced in the Series 27 LEGO Minifigures and has since appeared in several sets from themes as diverse as Dreamz to Disney. Here’s a closer look at the LEGO element ‘creature w/hole’, better known as the plush toy element.
As mentioned, this fun new element was first featured as an accessory for the Series 27 Minifigures character, Plush Toy Collector. This partly helped to give the element its unofficial name. It’s hard to describe the piece, but it’s a small, rounded element which can be connected to a stud via a hole at the bottom. It also includes a smaller hole at the top where various accessories can be added. The Plush Toy Collector included two different plush toys: a green frog-like plush and a blue bear plush.
The plush toy element has also appeared in a handful of LEGO Friends sets. The tiger-like creature can be found in set 42624: Aliya’s Baby Sister’s Playroom, with the penguin plush appearing in set 42647: Paisley’s Room.
Those weren’t the only Friends sets to feature plush toys. The amazing Comic Book and Game Store set (42674). This includes the first plush toys to include extra pieces. An alien-like plush, with an antenna, is joined by a unicorn plush, complete with a horn.
The green alien plush has also made a return in this year’s LEGO City Advent Calendar, although it lacks the antenna piece. This is the only LEGO Advent to include a plush element. The 2025 LEGO Friends Advent Calendar features a reindeer plush. A purple bunny-like plush appeared in the LEGO DREMAZzz set 71488: Bunchu’s Creative Animal Adventures.
The same reindeer plush has also appeared in the recently released Family Christmas Tree (41843) set, where it’s joined by a unique snowman plush. Both the snowman and reindeer plush elements include additional accessories, which connect to the hole on the top.
Although the element is mostly used as plush toys, it’s also been used to recreate some beloved Disney creations. The Kakamora are a savage tribe of coconut-like pirates who first appear in Disney’s Moana. The deadly characters return in the sequel and appear in a set inspired by Moana 2. Six Kakamora can be found in set 43258: Kakamora Barge. The same creature element is combined with various unique head accessories to replicate the coconut tribe.
