77076: Durrr Burger Restaurant Fortnite Set Review

Durrr Burger has been a part of Fortnite from the beginning, it even predates the popular Battle Royale mode. As Fortnite’s in-universe fast food chain, Durrr Burger has inspired various aspects of Fortnite and, by extension, LEGO® Fortnite. Durrr Burger first appeared in Save the World as one of the various buildings dotted around the levels. It has since appeared on different Battle Royale maps and inspired one of the few LEGO Kits released for use in Odyssey and Brick Life. The chain’s mascot has also inspired several outfits along with their LEGO Styles. This particular LEGO Fortnite set is inspired by the Durrr Burger restaurants. Rounding off the LEGO Fortnite Summer set reviews is a closer look at the Durrr Burger Restaurant.

When LEGO Fortnite first launched, it was supported by a series of LEGO Kits. These digital LEGO sets let you add pre-designed structures to your worlds. One such set was a Durrr Burger restaurant, and it’s that which has acted as inspiration for this particular set. It’s not a direct recreation, but it does feature similar details.

The building is built on a ‘starter brick’ plate. These are commonly found in the 4+ but have been used elsewhere and are great for modular-like constructions. This is a key feature of the set, so every part of it can be rearranged to configure the restaurant in different ways. That includes the exterior walls and windows, along with a seating area, menu board and a pepper plant.

The interior of the restaurant has a similar level of customisation. So you can easily move around the till point, the cooker and other items found inside. If you wanted to craft a bigger version of Durrr Burger, the modular nature of the set would make it very easy to combine multiple sets.

The building is topped by a fairly substantial roof. This not only helps to keep the sections of the building together but also holds the iconic Durrr Burger sign. The large disc plate features a sticker showcasing the restaurant’s name. Due to the size of the sticker, it’s easy to get air bubbles under it, so take extra care when applying it. The signage also includes another brick-built version of Boss Burger’s head. This is the second time one has appeared in a set. The smaller version sits above the stickered element, and it can also be mounted in different ways. The rest of the roof is dead space, so within the area between the restaurant and the top of the roof, a chest of weapons is stored.

The set includes three minifigures, including Durrr Burger mascot Beef Boss. The character was introduced during Fortnite’s Season 5 and has become a popular original character. The minifigure uses a unique burger-shaped head. Unfortunately, it lacks the brown boots found on the digital version of the minifigure. Beach Bomber is a variant of a character already featured in a previous Fortnite set. The ‘Bomber’ character has many different versions and, as the name suggests, the one found in this set is ready for the beach. Oddly, the character has a darker skin tone between the Brite and Beach styles. But this is also the case with the in-game characters. It’s also another character to lacks the same basic details found on the digital minifigure. So, no dual moulded legs or print detail on the arms. Grimey is an odd choice for a character, as it’s not exactly an iconic character, but it is easy to translate into a minifigure. Saying that this is yet another minifigure to lack print detail. Considering the only detail found on the character is on part of the torso and legs, why it’s not included is odd. The set also features a standard skeleton minifigure.

To access this, you’ll need to scan the QR code found on the set’s instruction booklet using the LEGO Builder app. This will bring you to a page where you can register your set for Insiders points and access the code required to gain access to the digital reward. You’ll need an Epic account to redeem your code.

The customisable nature of the set gives it a fun level of playability. It also has plenty of iconography related to Fortnite, which long-term fans of the game will have an affinity for. The minifigures are a fun expansion of those found in other upcoming sets and the Battle Bus. Beef Boss is the highlight of the three featured in the set, and it’s nice to also gain access to the in-game version of the character as well. But the slight differences between the more detailed digital and their physical counterparts are a shame. There are a lot of iconic locations from Fortnite, but Durrr Burger is the most well-known, making it a good choice for a LEGO set. The LEGO Fortnite Durrr Burger Restaurant set launches June 1st and can be pre-ordered now.
