Most of the LEGO® sets inspired by Fortnite are based on content or characters from the main Fortnite Battle Royale experience. Although things like the Battle Bus and Durrr Burger have appeared in LEGO Fortnite’s world, they are based on established items. So this upcoming set is unique as it’s based purely on LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. The survival game lets players construct villages and upgrade them by collecting resources and battling enemies. This smaller LEGO Fortnite set features buildable items and all-new minifigures. Here’s what Peely & Sparkplug’s Camp has to offer.

Unlike Fortnite’s main Battle Royale mode, in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey the aim is to explore, build and survive. Players are dropped into a vast world with only snippets of information to help them advance. One of the most useful things to first build is a workbench. This allows players to build tools and weapons. Oddly, the physical version isn’t the same as the in-game model. They are very similar and use the same coloured elements, but the real version is a tad smaller.
Along with the workbench, the set also features a fire. These are dotted around the world of LEGO Fortnite. They help mark villages, raider camps, and keep players warm in cold biomes. The fire is also slightly different to its in-game model and is smaller. The biggest part of the set is a section of ruins. These are often found when exploring and can be a good place to find resources. The section of scenery isn’t found in the game; it can be easily knocked down and built in different ways.
Llamas have been a part of Fortnite for many years. They are used like piñatas and carry loot. In LEGO Fortnite, they are often found standing around and can be opened to find a massive amount of goodies. This mini version is similar to the mini llamas offered as a Make & Take build and the one featured in a LEGO Fortnite launch kit.
I always thought it was odd that the creatures found in LEGO Fortnite were brick-built, especially as there are so many great animal figures. But being brick-built does make them a little more menacing. Unlike the other pieces found in the set, the wolf looks just like it does in the game. Although it’s a little awkward to pose due to its various joints. Joining the wolf is another in-game enemy, a classic skeleton minifigure.
Unlike the first wave of Fortnite sets, the upcoming range all feature minifigures and thanks to Fortnite’s mass archive of player skins, there have been many to choose from. This set features two new characters. Sparkplug is a mechanic first introduced into Fortnite in 2019. Her LEGO style was one of the first to appear in LEGO Fortnite. The physical version does lack a couple of details that the digital one has. There’s no print detail on the sides of the legs, and one arm lacks print detail. Still, it’s another great Fortnite minifigure. The second character is making its third LEGO appearance. Peely, the anthropomorphic banana, appears in his base form. The same banana skin suit is reused. This means Peely’s Island Adventure, Adventure, and standard styles have all appeared in different sets.
Each of the new LEGO Fortnite sets includes access to an in-game digital reward. This set offers the Sparkplug outfit and LEGO Style. To access this, you’ll need to scan the QR code found on the set’s instruction booklet using the LEGO Builder app. This will bring you to a page where you can register your set for Insiders points and access the code required to gain access to the digital reward. You’ll need an Epic account to redeem your code.
Although one of the smaller Fortnite sets, it packs quite a lot into it. I prefer the look of the workbench and fire in the set compared to how they are featured in the game, but, oddly, they are different. Thankfully, the wolf and llama are better matches to their in-game counterparts. The same can be said for the minifigures. Peely is a fun character, who wouldn’t like a humanoid banana, but this is the third time a variant will have featured in a set, and there are many more cool-looking characters to choose from.
